Finally jumped on the VMP wagon
After being extremely unsatisfied with my Troyer Tunes I finally ordered a new tune from Justin. I left him several messages and he never got back to me but Mike told me he was really busy. I finally got the credit card thing to work and submitted my order just 10 minutes ago. With my TP tune I was having transmission trouble. There was like a knock in my transmission and it seems like when it shifts it would just fall off.. I didn't even want to screw with trying to get it fixed it would probably take 20 years. Plus I was just unhappy with the tune as a whole. It ran pretty good on the highway but had nothing down low at all. Its a truck!! I need down low. I'm hopin I should be able to break those 22's loose. Sheez with all my mods it shouldn't be a problem at all! I got a 91 tune due to its hard to find 93 here in beautiful Lubbock Texas. I'll give yall an update whenever I get the tune and get her all dialed in.

After researching on these forums for a while I ordered a Xcal3 with VMP tunes last night. This is my first performance mod for my 2006 5.4L XLT Scab. I went with tuner over other mods because it is the best bang for your buck from what I've read. The biggest reason for going with VMP is because of the quicker turn around time compared to the other options. I was really considering the Gyrphoon but I didn't want to have to wait that long for custom tunes. I know it would be worth it but I think I would be happy with any of the 3 options talked about on the forum. I'm hoping the VMP tune will wake up my 5.4 a little bit and maybe help some with gas mileage. I got a Performance, Towing and gas mileage tune. I'll post my opinions on the tunes after my truck is flashed.

I had Troyer tunes for about a year and decided to take the plunge and purchase VMP tunes as well. I had been running a VMP 87 performance tune for the last couple of months. Good performance, but it really seemed to drop the HP at around 45-50 mph (TC issue) and really bogged down going up hills. I switched back to my Troyer 2 days ago and have not noticed the large drop in HP that I was experiencing with the VMP tune. Not bashing VMP at all, just stating my experiences with both tunes. I still have a VMP 92 performance tune that I haven't given a try yet. May fill up with 92 next time and give it a try.
