let me put it this way.
there is no "worlds greatest hamburger" because in the end it is subjective.
quickest delivery dosent mean it is the best, dosent mean it is the worst either.
dyno pull will only tell some of the story.
on paper, one tune might be the clear winning, yet when you drive it another might be what you like.
in a perfect world, 1 trucks, 3 tunes, 5 drivers age 20, 30 , 40, 50 and 60 do real world driving, followed by mpg on the test followed by a dyno run looking for best average power, peak power. then a test loaded with a trailer then a 1/4 mile test. why hasent a magazine done this test? seems like something alot of people would like to see. you would think a tuner would do this themself even just comapring their tune to a stock one, seems like it would be a usefull marketing tool.

I agree, that would be a scientific test if I ever saw one. That's one of the main reasons why a few people are now looking at getting all three tunes (since PHP will be in the SCT game soon). If we had hard data PLUS the multiple opinions of drivers for certain tunes, then we'd be covering all the bases and with this info posted in a sticky we'd end all the "Whose tunes are the best" posts from the noobs coming in for the first time.
But one problem I can forsee already.....what are the gurus going to do when they can't argue over their tuner preference anymore?...lol, I don't think they'll have a problem finding something to debate over - the butt meter still has particular tastes even if a dyno shows your specific tune makes 3rwhp and 5rwtq less than someone else's tune. So we'll never get rid of the opinions, but the data will help many people compare and make educated choices when purchasing their tuners.
This sounds like a fun weekend event though...maybe us Texas members should get together with our various tunes, setups, and dyno data and have meet and greet where we can drive and test in person the different tunes and mods out there???
