question about superchips cortex i was wonderin if i bought it it says it is good with 99 through o8 f 150s now my question is this good on the 4.6 and the 5.4 or just one or the other. it has the same part number on the web site for both motors and what not so will it work with eithor or or not? also can i use the tuner on two different trucks or not? thank you your help is much appreciated

 

Have you had any modifications to your truck? I have an exhaust and cold air intake. Superchips didnt have a custom tune they could load into it so I chose not to go with them.

 

yes i will when im done. what did you go with cause i plan on a cai and performance mass air flow sensor maybe a throttle body spacer i have a flowmaster on it now any idea for a better performing exhaust i have and 02 f150 with 4.6

 

It will work for both motors. No you cannot use the same tuner on two trucks, only one vehicle at a time. Don't waste your time with a throttle body spacer, they are paper weights. They do NOTHING on fuel injected vehicles. They actually helped out on carbs but not so much here. As far as exhaust, there are a lot of good choices out there. What kind of set-up are you running right now? I'd highly suggest running true duals, with the cats, 2.25" or 2.5" tubing with two Magnaflow Magnapacks. Also consider running a H-Pipe. Either way, it will sound amazing !!

Just curious, why are you going with the "Superchips Cortex"? It'd be a much better idea to get a Xcal2 or Xcal3 with custom tunes. It's going to net you much more power. Also, HIGHLY consider running 93 octane. 93 octane tunes does wonders for that body style. I know it's more but you will get better gas mileage on it so it becomes a wash. It might cost you at most $2-3 more a fill-up. Once you figure out how much more power you're going to gain, I'm sure you will go that route.
