Hey, im new to the site and just got a 06 f150 lariat with a 5.4 stock with 30k miles. I found an used edge on craigs list for $200 bucks it will be the first mod on the truck. Is it worth it?

buy a new programmer that can be custom tuned is my advise.

 

I wouldn't. I'd buy a custom tuned Xcal2 or Xcal3 from VMP Tuning.

It all depends - this COULD be a good deal. If the Edge you buy is in good condition and has been returned to stock and is the correct model for your truck (all the above HAVE to be true), you could buy it and then trade it in on a Gryphon upgrade from wwwphptune.com for a very nominal price. Once you have a Gryphon, you can get custom tunes for $50 each.

This is what I did and I have no regrets. Except I got my Edge on ebay. Bill and Corey at PHP are great people to work with and I guarantee a custom tune from PHP will make you happy.

A new Gryphon from PHP including three custom tunes is $465 at this moment I believe. They're having a sale. So, you could save a bit of money buying the used Edge.
