Edge and stock intake??

I know ive read here many times that the Edge needs the stock intake. my question is i can get sweet deal on an Edge from a friend who no onger has the truck, Is it WORTH taking my AFTERMARKET intake off for the Edge or saving my pennies for some other tuner? Can I really be as happy with that or with say a Gryphon with custom tunes for the intake??

I will look into that. Thanks guys, not sure what custom tunes ill do, im not sure what would be the best for me? I tow occasionally about 6000#'s so i would want something for that for sure, other than that im not sure what else. I know its not a race truck, but I would like some more "fun" power for the people at red lights who wanna "get some" though!

The Edge with the canned tunes and stock intake makes the truck a lot more fun to drive. Adds about 25 hp. I would estimate that the custom tunes pick up approx an additional 10. I have a towing tune, 87 Perfornamce and a 93 Performance.

Not only will custom tunes give you more power, more importantly they are much safer and offer better driveability.

HOW SWEET OF A DEAL IS IT??
Price each out before buying..
$ used edge evo + $ upgrade to gryphon + $ cost per tune
vs.
gryphon w/custom tune
vs.
any other reputable tuner with custom tunes
