Diablo predator...

What do you guys think of the diablo predator?

Something not too complicated... Easy to use.. push button... and easy to revert back to orig... Good piece of equipment?

The device used to load the tunes is not as important as the tune itself. Some are faster than others but unless you plan to retune every other day a minute here or there is no big deal. It is best to check with your tuner to see which devices he can program.

I was under the impression this programmer came with 3 basic tunes spcifically for certain year models. 1 be "faster", 1 for towing, 1 for gas milage, and 1 to revert back to orig...am i wrong?

I dont know much about programmers. Does this tuner have "out of the box" tune for the year make model they sell for? Can I just plug and play? I don't have any mods, I dont want to buy custom tuning. So Again I guess my question is, Can I hook this up to my truck and use a "stock" tune that was made as a basic tune with the programmer?

Possibly but you'd be better off buying the Xcal3. At least than you could use the canned tunes and when you realized you wanted custom tunes you'd only have to spend $59 for a custom tune ...

I just don't want to do a custom tune now with a bone stock truck. Then if I get the tune it will be worthless if I decide to add exhaust, intake, etc. I'll have to pay to re-tune it again. I just want a tuner that can add some umph, and maybe not be as good as the custom tuners out there, but help out a little bit.

I know of 3 guys here locally who have used the Predator, 2 of them have had certain issues, and both have had SUCKY customer service. The third one, through his away after it locked up about a million time's, and none of the customer service rep's, could fix it with out him mailing it in to be repaired, once he got it back, it locked up again! So he got mad and through it against the wall....

He then with a X-Cal2 and custom tunes....

I started with the Superchips 1714 that has the 87, to, and 91 performance.

My .02 is to go with Xcal3 (with the canned tunes) or possibly an edge since your leaving your truck stock.

www.vmptuning.com sell's the tuner.

Please read this post I made on the Diablo website forum about the Pred. I wanted one but found out that it would not work on my PCM thank God before I bought one.
