99 4.6 edge level 3

i am going on a trip soon and i am looking forward to running level 3 for the first time. i am at 2000 ft, and if i run 91 octane should i leave the timing at 0? i just dont know if my motor can get any better mileage. right now i am running 87 octane and my timing is at 1.5 and im consistently getting 19 while driving 65.

I'm surprised you are able to advance the timing that much using 87 octane. When I tried to advance the timing only 0.5, I got a "strolling" idle. However, this was soon after I'd bought the Edge and I had not updated the firmware and version info.

I suppose you could try advancing it in small increments like 0.5 at a time and see what happens. I don't know anything about your model truck and so can't say if you'd be able to "hear" ping, indicating a problem, or if your truck's PCM would just try to compensate for a bad adjustment (giving you the worst of 2 worlds).
