Towing VS Hauling

I know you are not supposed to tow on the Performance tunes, but what about hauling?

Does an extra 800-1000 pounds in the bed matter?

I think you'll be fine. Just take it easy, which is what you should be doing with that much weight on the bed anyways.

I always go easy when loaded.

I guess it really is no different than if I had 4 friends riding with me.

Troyer says you can haul up to maximum rated payload on his performance tunes. I've done it several times. Runs like a champ. I even had 2500 pounds back their once, and it ran perfectly fine.

I dont know what the other tuners recommend for theirs, i'd just call them and figure it out.

Good to know. I am running Troyers 93 performance tune right now. Just picked up some patio block for the pool I am putting in this weekend, and did not want to change tunes just for the ride home.

Justin feels the same way. It's the tuners who say no tuning on their tow tunes are the ones you need to watch out for ...

jpdadeo that's not his question, he's not asking for the weight limits of his vehicles. The question is if he can tow or haul weight on a performance tune ...

For a naturally aspirated tune I totally agree.

If you've got forced induction then IMHO you should run a less-aggressive tune if you tow heavy.

For a short trip like that at "in town" speeds, I wouldn't give it a thought.
