I know that the difference can be more in other states, but Im only concerned about where I do 99% of my driving.
what kind of bike r u riding? because any bike for the us has a minimum octane requiement of 91 ,not 93 so it can be a 49 state bike-i'd put money on it that ure manual states 91 octane minimum,my 06 cbr1000rr and 08 1098 S both state to use 91

Off topic- Motorcycle octane

You are right, the manual says to use a minimum of 90 octane.

BUT

Where I live it is an oddity to see 91 octane gas. The only station that sells it in my neck of the woods is Sonoco (and they only started selling it about 6 months ago). I prefer to use BP or Chevron and they only have 87,89, and 93in my area. So I have always used 93 in my bikes.

AND

I only live about 30ft above sea level so to be on the safe side, I stick with the higher octane gas.

While I run 93 in my bike I pulled my manual after reading this and it says you can run a minimum of 86 octane.

I have a '04 CBR F4i.
