i am just trying to figure out if its the pain or the pain pills that make you such an a-hole.

and before you start you "grow-up" crap this thread was basically going well and no-one was slaming your boy simply stating what he could do until justin fixed him up.
I wasn't slamming Troyer. I was proving my point about how hard the AF1 3.5" is to tune via the mail order tune. My point is that the 3.5" should be dyno tuned in my opinion. I'd opt to get the 3" tube for my AF1 in his case with a mail order tune to be safe. Everyone understood where I was coming from but you. No one was dishing insults out until you came in here so what does that say about you?

Kind of diverting the subject a little, but where can we find a 3" AF1 tube???

I have the 3.5" intake, Justin tuned for this in my orginal tune.....If I replace the 3.5" with 3" tube, will I have to get Justin to re-tune for the smaller tube so it won't run too rich or will the orginal tune be OK.......

Thanks,
Andy

Any place that sells the AF1 should be able to get you the tube. I believe it runs $150. Justin will fix the tune for you for free more than likely. I'd go ahead and get the 3" tube but I'm really **** about my vehicles. I wouldn't want to chance it. I was running lean in my 2006 F150 with the S&B CAI and the Edge but I didn't get a CEL so I would of never knew unless I put it on the dyno.

One more queston if ya'll don't mind........when a person tunes for the 3.5" tube, what do they increase/adjust to correct the leaning out?

It would really help if you said who you were, or referenced an order number, or email, or something. I get about 200 emails and 50 phone calls per day.

Everyone is afraid of a lean code, but they don't really know what it means, and are afraid of the unknown, kind of like liberals and guns.

The computer is only able to detect if the engine is lean at part throttle, this is known as closed loop, where the computer is getting feedback from the O2s. At WOT there is no feedback, this is called open loop. If you set a rich or lean code it means the computer has adapted and most likely fixed the problem, but its letting you know that it had to make more than a 25% correction (the max correction and lean/rich code threshold are calibratable parameters). This is why you'll get guys with aftermarket intakes on 05+ fords that sometimes set a check engine light, and sometimes don't (when not tuned for), because they are right on the edge of the threshold.

Justin thanks for the reply, my name is Jeremie Higgins and my order Id # 2455, Im not too worried about the lean thing, Im sure you're tune can fix that. Its the tunes themself thats not working. The only reason it running lean is cause I have stock tuning and the 3.5 AF1 intake. The problem Im having is the when I download any of the tunes you sent me it puts the truck into Engine fail safe mode, im hopeing you can fix the problem. I do understand your busy. Thanks again
Jeremie Higgins
