edge shift point ?
hi i have a 97 f150 5.4l and today i changed all 8 coils and plugs and the iac valve. so i went home to finish getting the shift points correct. when i go to change them i load the previous settings and adjust from there i set 1-2 at 5000 and 2-3 at 5000. after i program it and go run it 1-2 shifts about 4900 and 2-3 about 4700 maybe 4800. my rev limiter is at 5300. im just curious on why its shifting early and not later like it should. before i did my tune up i think i had the shifts at 1-2 4875 and 2-3 about the same and it shifted right around 5100 and 5000. any suggestions are help would be wonderful. thanks in advanced
from what i was told, the tranny settings take a trip or to to fully adjust because of the "learning" transmissions...
listen, make sure your tire size and gear ratio are set correct, i know you said you did a restore but just for @%$$'s and giggle's try it...
if not, call bill in the morning
on the tranny learning, i don't think i ever experienced where it DIDN'T happen when i programmed it, but i do remember reading on here about the edge programming and these tranny's...
