Suddenly, gas mileage is getting more important isn't it.

It's really too soon to tell, but with my Gryphon running a custom Level 2 tow tune and 3.73 gears in a 4x4 Screw I seem to be in the mid to high 15 MPG range using 87 octane. (Low 15s in town, close to 16 on the highway).

I say too soon because I've not driven it much since getting the tune.

I got better gas mileage with my Edge than I did after I added 3.5" AF1 and Troyer tunes.

The "canned" Lvl 2 tune is an 87 octane tune. It's just designed to optimize towing.

I've been getting a steady 16 to 18mpg on the highway, 13 to 14 city in heavy traffic. Running on level 2 using 87 octane, adjusted for taller tire diameter only. Started a 100 mile a day commute about 2 month's ago, just in time for the big gasoline price jump! Truck get's excellent mileage considering it's size and turning 35" tires.

Ok, so I've gotten a 75% acceptance from my wife to start adding some goodies to my '07 5.4 Scab.

I drive roughly 75 miles R/T each day and would like to see if it's possible to gain some extra mpg.

I've heard people adding dual Cats (maggies mainly) as well as CAI and Chipping it.

Seems like going with a chip/programmer there's no need to go with a CAI. What about a new exhaust system?

I'm curious to know what ya'll would recommend and in what order.

Model # and online sites for purchasing would be very much appreciated as well.

Thanks much!

I would go with a programmer first, exhaust, and then a CAI. I get 18 on the highway with a custom tune from PHP.
