Tuning While Getting Gas

I was putting 87 octane in my truck yesterday and since i was running the 93 octane tune i decided to switch them while i waited for the tank to fill. bad idea. this caused my gas gauge needle to be stuck in the quarter tank position and after some fiddleing with the tuner i decided to return it to stock and disconnect the battery. im guessing it recalibrates everything when the battery is disconnected because the gauge went up to full. just a warning for you other guys.

I have also tunned while getting gas and never had this happen, but I have had it happen when the truck was stock. After I would fill up the gas gauge would just sit on empty till I turned the truck off and back on. Whats the deal with that?

Mine will do it if I leave the key on while fueling up its not a big deal it will go back to reading it right after you park it for a little while.

Correct. This isn't really caused by the tuning aspect, just the fact that the key is on. All new vehicles will do it, at least Fords.

Turning the key, Off-On-Off three times should reset the fuel gauge.
