Question sacn gauge and xcal

to all the people that have scan gauges and x cal tuners.. why not just get the edge? wouldnt it be cheaper, and do the same things?

im just curious it seems like the combo of a scan gauge and a tuner with out a display would be the same as like the edge or livewire, but it seems it would be cheaper to just get a tuner that has the gauges.

but i dont know to much about this stuff

You're question is valid, but you're getting into people's predjudices (we all have them). I'm predjudiced toward PHP. Thumper is predjudiced towards VMP. And OpenClassPro (where's he been lately?) likes Troyer. (Sorry if I didn't acknowledge some of the rest of you predjudiced guys. :o I enjoy your opinions.)

I like the gauges in a Gryphon. Recently, I learned about another tuner that seemed to offer even MORE gauges. Would I switch? Not on your life! First, the cost is prohibitive. Second, the possible gain (to me) is minimal. And, third, I like the folks at PHP.

So, to ask any of us which is best is a bit pointless. We'll tell you, of course, but you are the one who has to decide. You get to develop your own predjudices, and then you can rant on this forum like the rest of us!

And, MY answer to your question is get one with gauges!

Raptor05121 is prejudiced toward ScanGauge II because it gives him 230 HP.

I like the X-Gauge feature.

I had an Edge but just sold it to a guy with an 05. It's not a bad canned base tune and you can tweak it to your liking. As far as tuning and drivability, I had both and prefer my custom tuning/intake combo 1000x more. I had still used the Edge for gauges for a bit but recently bought the scangauge II. It fits nicely on the steering column and is right in the same area as all your gauges, instead of having this pod on the dash.
