Power Pup Gas

has anyone tried this? i had an edge and well my truck wouldnt run. broke down twice (07 only 7000 miles) so i returnd it to where i bought it. the power pup says it adds 24 hp on premium gas. i have ordered k&n 63 series intake and have a flowmaster super 44. i want to know on the middle setting used for gas mileage and mild hp on 87 octane does it make a good difference. i read 10-12 hp which is better than hypertech and superchips gets 11hp. also i highly doubt id be doing any dyno tunes at the moment but could i later? any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

No a dyno tune would be out of the question for that unit. I'd highly recommend going with a custom tuned Xcal2 from a reputable tuner. I'm sure the price is going to be close. Custom tuning is a lot better than any canned tuner. The Xcal2/3s are awesome because if you get another Ford vehicle that runs the ODBII port, you'll be able to use it once you get a tune for it. Tunes are only $50, a lot better than having to buy another $400 programmer.

SCT makes the Xcal2 and 3.

My personal pick is www.VMPTuning.com. I believe you'll spend $395 for the tuner and a custom tune of your choice.

No one was talking about the Egde. The tuner in question was the Power Pup. The Edge isn't like every other canned tuner since Bill has been thrown into the mix with his Gryphon.

06yz250f custom tunes are the way to go, they cost about the same and will insure your CAI and flowmaster don't run you lean

I use the XCal2 and really like it; do some searching on canned tunes vs custom, you'll see what I mean

I have the power pup gas (bully dog) and love it. I don't have any intake or exhast mods so I opted for the over the counter option.

Contact member Racing2Fast, he's got a 4.6 with custom VMP tunes. Justin would be able to tell you the ~numbers though.
