Talking Just bought a Hypertech Max Energy programmer

Well I rode up to my local napa store and bought a hypertech max energy programmer for $435.00! It will be in my hands tomorrow and I can't wait to see how it does! I know that I could have paid a cheaper price but I like to have the ability of taking it right back to a place that isn't 2 miles from my house if it happens to screw up! I am not expecting huge power gain's but I mainly want it to increase the top speed limiter, recalibrate my speedo, and most importantly improve my shift points and firmness! If I feel an increase in power and fuel mileage then in my mind it will be money well spent! I mainly was wondering if anyone on here has one and could give me there thoughts on the programmer till I get to try it out tomorrow! I'll also me taking my parents on vacation to Hot Springs,AR tomorrow so i'll get to find out whether or not it does help my fuel mileage! Thanks!

Probably would have been a good idea to ask before you bought it. Anyhow, good luck and i hope it works for you

Well i've searched on here and I knew that everyone were gonna say go for troyer tunes or the edge which i'm not doubting isn't the best products but i'm real good friends with the local napa stores salesmen and I know that if I have any problems I only will have to drive about 2 miles and get my money back and not have to fight with somone over the telephone. I would have gotten the edge if he could have gotten it but all he carried were hypertech, superchips and bully dog! My friend also charged me the same as I would have paid for the same programmer on stylin concepts with next day air! Besides if I don't like it it will be easy to sell it to someone locally or on ebay.

If you guy's are good friends with this guy why did you pay so much? These things go for $379 brand new on ebay.

Hypertech sucks!!! I've had all three you have mentioned. Save yourself the hassle + money and get a refund then go buy Troyer

I agree except I'd go with VMP.

Yikes! Remember when the EDGE was ~330 during the first group-buy?! Now that was a DEAL. But $435 for something only better than JET chips.

All that really matters is if you feel good about the purchase, but you could have gotten about twice the benefit for the same money with custom tuning. Let us know what you think when its installed....

I had a hypertech on my last truck, it was alright. I def would get custom tuning though, no comparison to the hypertech. The edge is the best canned tuned out there I think.

Yea I might have made a mistake and if I don't like it then i'll just take it right back where I bought it from! I have never bought a programmer for anything and it might be a rookie mistake! LoL I will be sure to post back here on my opinion of it though!

Well one things for sure I don't regret my purchase by a long shot! I'm extremely impressed in the power gain! The throttle response is dead on now with hardly any lag. The shifting has firmed up a lot too! The installation was simple and so far I don't have any complaints with this programmer other than the fact I can't keep my foot out of the throttle now!

see i was thinking along those lines too.whe i buy a programmer im not waiting 2 damn months for it to come in.if it comes with a b.j.then ill wait.im thinking about going with vmp tuning.at least 2 weeks isnt as bad as 2 months.i have heard so much bad about the edge its hard to make a good decision.
