I just talked to a rep at SCT and he told me that my truck is going into fail safe mode because of the S&B Intake, he says it's not supported but it should be fine once I get my custom tunes.

I did not say more known, I said more advertised. If we could start a poll/thread and have say, Edge, Xcal2, Superchips, And Bulley Dog as choices. I bet the people who have the Edge would outnumber every other tuner.
What makes the Xcal so much better if you have to get it custom tuned to run an intake??? Sounds like the same problem the Edge has.

I have to agree with this totally. I work at a Ford dealership, but am not experiened with none of the tuners, nor have one. This is just an observation from what i see from customers.
For example:
I know about 50 customers personally that have edges on their truck. I would say about 8 of them had an issue.
I know about 10 customers who run Xcals and 2 of them have had an issue.
TO BE FAIR, You HAVE to look at the percentages to better evaluate the situation, not just numbers.
And like I said, I don't have a preference. This is just an observation

The biggest downfall for the Edge is putting it in the hands of too many people that can't read or won't read a manual, or are so computer illiterate they foul up pusing the buttons. It gets dummards like me involved whereas they have their hands held with custom tunes on the Xcal. If you removed all the problem threads that were operator caused, plus the ones where the trucks stratagy was not yet supported, there would not be that many left. I have not had one problem with my Edge because I follow instructions and don't mess with it otherwise. I think the best ones are when a battery fails and they title the thread, "Edge Killed My Truck-Please Help!"

The only "real" problems I've ever heard from the Xcal line-up was the firmware issues with the Xcal3s. Anything else is usually a problem with whoever did the tuning. The Livewire is a totally different story though and I won't deny that. It was rushed out before enough testing was done.

How much is the Edge? I bought mine when it was $330 and I think it's $430 now. Justin sells Xcal2s for $400 and I'm pretty sure that includes one "free" custom tune.

Some trucks dont like the canned tunes and it looks like yours and mine was one of them.
