newbie with questions about tuners

I'm in the processing of buying a 08 f150 SC 5.4 2wd 3.73.
After test driving it, I immediately noticed the pedal lag with the fly-by-wire throttle body. I also felt you almost have to have the pedal mashed to get it to accelerate with any authority. I WILL be keeping the truck stock, but will be doing a lot of towing with my camper. I've been looking on here for the last 2 months and have it narrowed down to troyer, vmp and edge. Howeve I hear Bill will not do custom tunes anymore. Her are my questions reagarding what these three can offer:

1) Will any of these tuners take care of the pedal lag or hesitation?
2)can i get a performance tune for both 87 and 93?
3)Is there such thing as a performance TOW and do I have to run a certain octane for this one?
4) a.Are the custom tunes that Bill use to offer the same tunes he now offers on this Gryphon?
b.Is the Gryphon still better that the edge if my truck stays stock?
5) Besides the 8-10 week wait on troyer, are there any other pros or cons that I might want to know?
6)Can i keep these performance tunes on all the time for everyday driving?
7)Does it hurt reliability or longevity of these powertrains at all?

I don't want to turn this into a who's better thread , because there are way too many of these on this forum already!

It also depends on what you are after, personally I like the edge because I like the dashmounted pod with the extra gauges, fuel econo, etc, but from what I read all over the internet, the troyer tunes are awesome as well!

Welcome to the forum DT150

If you’ve been looking for 2 months you won’t have any problem figuring out what’s what; there’s lots of good stuff available
