Another Edge Problem

I just came back from a 2 weekTDY... the truck was left in the driveway and not started. When I went to fire it up the truck gauges clicked around like crazy like the PCM was just plugged in and the truck wouldn't turn over. I hooked up a jumper pack to it and that turned it over. The battery has plenty of charge so I am convinced this is an edge issue. I returned it to stock and the truck won't start unless I have jumper pack hooked up. I let it run for a few and it would only start up only after it has ran for awhile. Any similar problems? Solutions?

The radio turns off and resets each time I turn it over it is like the whole computer resets each time I start the truck... and I can't go anywhere without the jumper pack

Wow, if anything goes wrong with someone's truck they ALWAYS go right to their Edge because they have heard all these terrible rumors Your truck needs a battery , but If your convinced it's the Edge, sell it, list it on here so someone can get a good deal on a "Faulty" Edge .

How? Once the PCM is programmed it stays, just like stock programming. Dead battery or not.

Battery doesn't "screw" with a tuner, but what am I insinuating?

Voltmeter doesn't mean sh^t, It can have 12.6v and only 100 cranking amps. Have the battery load tested, I'm a Ford Tech so trust me.

it's not a smack on Edge, it's just the way it is; if you got a crap battery and it peters out when you're programming your truck, there's a problem, it doesn't matter what tuner you use; the data transfer gets corrupted

and yes I do agree the PCM will not lose its program by just sitting

Well yeah, but his problem is that his battery is dead, not it died while programming He said after sitting it wouldn't crank, not after programming.

I think Mods should delete these threads with false titles and bogus content. This is getting ridiculous.

X2 this is a bunch of sh^t IMO, all these "Edge PROBLEMS", don't blame your lack of automotive knowledge and ability to your mods. I mean if you keep getting a flat tire, do you blame it on the Edge because you reprogrammed the tire size????

my guess is you have some parasitic draw that killed the battery while you were on vacation or the battery was weak to begin with. i think alot of ppl tend to blame every problem on the edge because it stays in the vehicle but do not realize that once its progamed its just a monitor. also keep in mind if the battery is weak the edge unit will not turn on correctly when the vehicle is started and it may only light up with no display. in that case just unplug the unit and plug it back in with the engine running. but ya sounds like you need a battery.
