EDGE Question

This may be a stupid question, but once the tune is installed, does it have to stay plugged in all the time? I would just like to install the tunes, disconnect it and put it away. Is that possible with the Edge? Haven't seen anyone metion it, one way or the other.

There have been several threads started asking the same thing, you just missed them. You can unplug it, but dodn't know why you would not want to use the gauge features. That is the main reason I chose the Edge over another product.

Hey bluejay. I am in Burleson for work. I have been here for over a month. The bad thing is that I have a brand new Evolution sitting on my kitchen counter that arrived while I have been away. My question is how long does the PCM need to adjust to my driving style? The last time I was home it was only for 12 hours, so I really want to start playing with this as soon as I get home "The girlfriend will have to wait". Can I start pushing my foot in the gas as soon as I get it hooked up, or should I take it easy for a little bit and then start having some fun. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Drive it like you stole as soon as you put it on. The only thing that might need to be relearned would be the Idle, If you want it to run best, "Dog" it as soon as you program it.

It takes about 10 minutes to install if you mount it on the dash, and you follow their insturctions. If you are not mounting it, it takes about 5 minutes to program. Once done, you just drive, the more you drive the better it gets as the computer goes thru the "adapting to your style" thing. It is just plug and GOOOO !

Working in construction in the area?

East Renfro? I live out that way. Go out Renfro to get to my house, if I am coming from Old Town. If going from the North part of town, go around the airport, out Burleson-Retta. I bet you're
on that rig between Renfro and the airport where they put in all the pipeline.

I am at the Comfort Inn at the corner of 35 and Renfro. The rig is east of 35 just before the first stoplight to the left on Renfro.

Yeah, I think that is the one I am tolking about, just over the hill to the north of renfro. That little Don Filipe restaurant right there at the light is pretty good Mexican food.

About how many "drive cycles" or how long to determine if a tuning adjustment is working. I have been experimenting with different octane and timings for level 2, shift firmness, etc. and may have been adjusting too soon.

You should notice a difference on the first drive cycle. I noticed a significant difference. Of course, i was increasing my pressure thru the custom adjustments.
