Evo and custom Options and PIDs
Wanted to ask y'all...
Looking at making some changes and would really like to know what other options and PIDs could be added to make the units more useful.

Something that always seems to come up with with 2004-current 5.4 3v is the A/F. Is there a way to tie a wide band to the evolution?
This might sound silly but I have to ask anyways. If you replace factory O2 with a wide band could you monitor voltage via ODBII and convert with a table in the Evo to A/F ratio?
I would also like to have data logging capabilities.
Ability to change custom splash screens back.
What other options are available?
Thanks again Bill for all of your help.

Datalogging is in the works to be restored, as is the Splash Screen change.
As for O2, it's not as simple as replacing the factory sensors with a wideband. The PCM won't know what to do with the signals. Using factory O2s, I can do a Rich/Lean type of thing which might be helpful.
Edge has been discussing the possibility of putting a wideband on the external port of the Evo (the little 4 pin on the right side of the OBDII connector. They use that port now for a Pyrometer on the diesels and I am sure that it could just as easily be used for wideband O2 signals. The only catch is to figure out how to power the O2 sensor heaters and shut them off when not in use. We'll keep you posted on that one.
I am looking at the English/Metric Options. Sadly, it's quite involved to set up so I can't promise anything soon but I'll see what we can come up with.

I appreciate you taking the time and effort to satisfy all us all. Which i no must be a chore in its self!
Bill,
So using Rich/lean could you setup something to monitor Air/Fuel ratio. Also i have seen there is a way to use the edge to control N2O, Is that true for all the EVOs?

I don't know if Oil Pressure is available on the CAN bus. If not, then it won't work.
The Evo Nitrous Controller project went by the wayside. I have looked at reviving it, but there are obviously more pressing concerns than that. If we can generate enough interest to make it worthwhile, I'll look at speeding it up.
As for the AFR, all I can do is basically give you the Rich/Lean type deal on the Evo. If Edge ever gets the AFR Module developed/working, then it would give you actual AFR numbers.
Keep 'em coming!

I don't think oil pressure is an option due to the sender that Ford is using these days. From what I understand it is just a pressure switch that responds to 4 psi or greater pressure as "good" and less than that as "bad". In order to get true pressure readings you would need to replace that sender with a true pressure sender. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than I will chime in and inform us further.
having fueling adjustments on the diesel eef 1220, i actually want less power not more.
I find level 4 (extreme is too much power) and that level 3 (tow) is not much better then stock.
A level 4 with adjustable fueling to decrease the amount of fuel added would be great, aswell as adjustable rpm on level 4 (currently you cant do that), hence due to higher egt's and higher rpm's then i like i dont run level 4.

Bill,
I know we've talked about this, so I figured I'd post to see if anyone else thinks it's worth it: How about the ability to save a tune as "personal tune" so you don't have to write all of your settings down before returning it to stock? Also, the addition of a menu option that would allow you to view all of your current settings.
Yes, no?
