will custom tuning fix my harsh shifting
Thanks, That is what I was looking for except that TSB shows 5.4L 3v, not for 4.6L. Is there a TSB out for the hesition issue on 4.6L ?
I had found a 4.6 TSB for ROUGH IDLE though...Have not found the one for hesitation for the 4.6..........Thanks

I didn't find anything for the 4.6L either, but that doesn't mean an update wouldn't help. The one that addresses rough idle may have changes in throttle response curves that would improve your dead spot. Who knows?
Keep us posted on your results.

Well, Got the truck back from dealer, the paper work states the current Calibration to be at level (52)......Which I was told was the latest ECM Calibration......Hmmmmm
Anyway, They DID NOT reflash it as it states to do in TSB 05-5-15 *Rough Idle-5.4 and 4.6L Engines*....Said it was the latest calibration and all checked well so they did not want to reflash it..And so nothing has changed..............

Better yet, find another dealer around there that'll take the 5 minutes to fix your issue.

I think you'd be happier spending the $$ for some custom tunes.. Yeah expensive, $450 or so, but well worth it. Not only would it fix your shifting issues but it just makes it an altogether different truck... I've gone back to the stock programming once and hated every second of it!! LOL
Save up and blow a wad on some tunes, you'll never regret it!!
I agree a tune with an xcal, etc would be best...but I dont want to have any powertrain warranty issues, as I still have about 2 years and 45,000 miles covered by Ford..
So I guees its off to another dealer to pay them to reflash it to TSB 05-5-15 for rough idle and hopefully it adjusts for throttle delay......
