Any way to know if .............
I just bought my truck used from a dealer. It came with flowmasters, k&n cold air intake and was wondering if it had been programed (chip) is there anyway to know? It seems to have quick get up and go!
If it's a 2004 F150 like you profile says than it uses a tuner/programmer, not a chip. This would be a very big problem if they left the "tune" in your computer. The handheld device stores the factory PCM tune and loads the new tune. Meaning you don't have the factory tune if that's the case and can't ever switch to another tune.
if its from a dealer, then i HIGHLY doubt they would sell it to you with anything but the factory tune on it. It may have a dealer reflash.
My dad's F150 has a different factory tune, his has more get up and go then mine did stock. However, i now use aftermarket tunes.

yea, my bro left tune installed and traded in his 07 stang GT ( Boss 302 details ) w/ 5 speed. It had a Brenspeed tune/C&L intake, pulleys, exhaust and 4:10. He's a GM guy, got bored with the Stang, and went back. Noticed last week the stang was gone off the chevy lot. This thing ran it's a$$ off, someone in Delaware now has a grin from ear to ear !
well i just called the guy and Im glad I did cause it was programed. He's even gonna meet me tomorrow and give me the programer and extra keys! He said it has the superchip i believe. Thanks guys.
