I think more detail is required. I mean where is the sound from, is it constant or variable. The motor or trans ? Have you tried going back to stock to see if "the sound" goes away.....Just trying to help.

Return to stock and see if it still does it.

Not that it should matter but what are your settings ? Level 2or 3 etc.... Does the humming change in pitch with the r's or is it one tone ?

It won't do it on stock, I bet. Just don't get a CAI, it'll be a million times worse. It's a weird qwerk in the programming.

Thanks Guys, i will mess with it tonight and see if i cant get it to quit. I heard that a CAI and the Evo dont react well together. Any other advice on getting some more power out of my truck???

I know this isn't what you want to hear but if you want more power. I'd ditch the Edge for a custom tuned Xcal2 or Xcal3 and an air intake. Do you have exhaust? Besides you could sell the Edge to someone on here and you'd be able to recoup most of the loss.

I bought the Edge, got a S&B CAI, the drone was so loud. I ended up buying a custom tuned Xcal2 from www.VMPTuning.com and just keeping the Edge as gauges. I had no more drone with the Xcal2, a lot better driveability, more power, etc.

Yeah. I have Borla Catback Dual exhaust with a KN filter, and Splitfire spark plugs. My mother-in-law got the edge for me for Christmas, i had it in my 01 powerstroke and loved it but i sold it cause it cost way to much money to maintain it.
the power increase with the evo in the f150 was awsome, but im not really wanting to make it a 10 second truck. I want more power for pullingm fuel economy

Well the basic mods are always CAI, tune, and exhaust. So like I said I'd ditch the Edge and get a tuner and CAI. If you want you could always get E-Fans, that should give you about 10-15 hp.

I dont think I would ditch the Edge till you found out the problem first.
Then go from there. Eveyones fix is dump the edge, it cracks me up.

Dont get me wrong Ive said it before and Ill say it again. "If" I didnt already have the edge would look into a xcal tuner. But just cant see people throwing money out the window and waiting 2 months (Unless you go with VMPTuning.) for a tuner when it could of been a simple fix.

Good Luck!

How are you going to fix the drone? It's caused by the programming, ditching it is the fix.
