If this was an Evolution the Troyer Army would have been saying you should have gotten an Xcal. I don't want to make light of your situation and am sure Troyer will fix you up but can't help but see the irony.

I am not positive but I don't think any tuner changes your actual hex so the fact that the Evolution is reading might not mean much.

It would suck to have an Evolution that works, wait 2+ months for Toyer and now not be able to use either.

Hang in there

Correct.

PS: The problems with Edges are FAR more than the problems that FEW have had with their Xcal2 or Xcal3.

Ask RP to do a IP trace to see if it's anyone else's IP. I really doubt it.

I agree with this but just thought it was funny to see the switch for a change. Luckily I haven't had any real issues and am happy with a custom tuned Evolution.

Not sure what the reference here is by Openclasspro but RP can do a trace, whois whatever or make it easier any of you can just ask who I am.

Also Openclasspro no need to try and start any drama I didn't knock Troyer anywhere and was pretty clear about what I said. No need to try and make something or somebody else up. Now get off his leg and grow up.

As a note sorry to Irish FX4 for the side track I didn't realize my comment would hijack your thread. I hope all is better tomorrow on your new tunes.

The fact that i got a error when it opened the custom tune leads me to believe its still stock, as the X3 did not flash the PCM with the custom tune. The X3 would over write the stock pcm file with the custom one but it never got that far!

I think someone told me once It's caused by the programming, ditching it is the fix. I would sell it and get an Edge.

J/K..Good Luck!!

Well i drove to work and i can say for sure its not running a performance tune! If it is a perf tune it sucks.Joke Its Worse than my Edge on level 2.

When i plug the X3 in it says current strategy is 87 Oct Performance. But it says there is no stock file or cant open when i select return to stock.
Well i did a read strategy with the X3 and it said RXAQ3B4.HEX same as my Edge. The truck is definitely stock but the X3 thinks its on 87 Oct Performance.
I hope TP can fix this as i dont want to have to go to the dealer to have it re flashed.

Did you ever get this resolved? Im having a simular issue where my X3 says "error opening a file" when i try to program. It was working fine for about a month and is now stuck on my 87 tow tune.

Just had this same issue when trying to download the 87 towing tune on my XCal3.

I got my custom tunes from TP about a week ago and installed the 87 performance with no issues. Today I tried to download the 87 towing tune by first "returning to stock" and then installing the custom towing tune, and I got the "error opening file" message. So I then tried to put the 87 performance tune back in and now I am getting the same message when trying to install it.

I tried downloading the tunes from my computer onto the XCal3 again but it didn't help.

So now I am stuck with my 3.5" AF1 on "stock" tune! (I think)

Sure would appreciate if anybody has any tips as this is obviously not a good situation. I will call Troyer first thing in the morning but in the meantime I am not sure if I can drive my truck with the stock tunes and 3.5" AF1 or not.
