Need review of Superchips Max #1715 programmer

Hi gang,

Been awhile since I've been on this forum and need a review on the #1715 Superchips Max tuner. I am specifically interested in purchasing one for better towing performance with 87 octance fuel.

I have an '02 F250 Scab 4x4, 5.4, 3.55 rears, and towing a 26 ft. toy hauler w/ 2 Harleys inside.

Of course I'd like improved mileage BUT my main concern is better towing performance. Anyone use this chip on their Ford 5.4 for towing and your opinions....

The trailer is new and going to Daytona next month from Boston.

Thanks

I bought one for my 03 a few years ago. I don't use it for towing but it did make a huge difference in performance! Well worth the money.

I am using the default 93 ocatane performance tune settings and I do get a bit concerned about the shifting. It shifts much harder now which is great for performance, but I wonder what the wear and tear is on the tranny.

Of course you can adjust it to shift softer very easy, I just haven't because i like the hard shifts. I just won't like them if the tranny goes out! I have always been one to learn the hard way.

I would imagine just the power gains alone would make you happy for towing!

Go for it.

I have the MicroMax Tuner and all I can tell you about is the Performance setting because I haven't and probably wont go to the Economy.
I was looking to get rid of the mid RPM lag that my truck had at WOT. The tuner fixed that and gave me a stronger acceleration that I notice every time I roll down the road. The shifts are firmer and should improve the life of the trans because it is now not meshing from 1 gear to another. I would recommend shopping on ebay for a new 1. I won a bid on ebay through Mustangs Unlimited for $219.00 shiped.
Very easy to load, just read the instructions

Thanks guys. I'll be checking for the best price, including Ebay.
