Maybe if Mike see's this he could respond for tuning for the cold *** weather up in MN?

It has nothing to do with the cold. When I ran my edge on my old truck WOT on level 3 that B*tch would SLAM into gear from 1-2 during the summer.

This "harsh" shifting does kinda scare me though because I don't like it slammin in where it almost jolts you....I might have to call Mike and talk before they start w/ my tunes.

the harder you accelerate, the firmer it shifts. it doesnt *slam* its just real quick and efficient, *firm* is a better way to describe it. But on light acceleration, it shifts like stock.

to me its perfect. you want to go fast, it shifts fast. you want to go slow, it shifts nice and calm.

There is no problem with the tunes and passing emissions. The problem with the one was the person changed it back to stock just before testing and the truck will have a code on it that will go away after a few drive cycles. Some states just plug into the OBDII and check for codes and if it is clear the vehicle passes. Many members have reported passing emissions with tuning.

On the harsh 1-2 shift; there is a difference between a nice quick, crisp, firm, yet SMOOTH shift and a quick, firm, harsh or "slammed" shift that can literally make the truck vibrate. I know what you are describing because I have experienced this to some degree with all tunes I've had (SCT, VMP and Troyer). The SCT and VMP tunes both slammed the 3-4 shift rather violently after intitally loading them so I turned the shift pressure down to -25 on that shift which helped right away and then after numerous drived cycles the problem went away and I was able to go back to 0 on the 3-4 shift pressure, the 1-2 and 2-3 did not do this. The TP tunes also intially would slam the 1-2 shift however not really that bad but I'm pretty **** about the truck being just right so I turned shift pressure down to -15 on that shift and it went away as well so I was able to bring it back to 0. This did not happen on the 2-3 or 3-4 shifts. I spoke with Mike about this when at his shop and we drove the truck after the dyno tune but it shifted perfectly (which I figured since it was already long gone). Perhaps it's something to do with the learning phase? This would usually happen when applying heavier throttle then backing off to some degree right before the shift. Either way it went away in all cases for me after some drive cycles.

Did you call TP to see if this slamming as you put it is normal?

Early Christmas Today
OK today was a good day-first off(little off topic) The local motorcycle dealer called today, the wire luggage rack i ordered was in-awsome

And then when I get home there was a little box from UPS
no warning-no email-no phone call-what the heck did I order-not expecting anything and then I read the box-return address was Troyer performance

Xcall 3 with custom tunes finally arrived-best part being I ordered the Xcall 2 (10-24-07) but then they came out with the X call 3, and apparently its better because thats the one they sent me

Anyways got the 87 performance tune loaded and ready to go-she is still trying to figure whats going on with the shift points but other than that shes good to go-its like a whole new truck
Tuner really woke this thing up-cant get the tires to spin though-tried standstill and tried running brakes-nothing, the LS axle doesnt let me do, just throws your a## in the seat and goes like hell
The unreliable seat in the pants dyno says it has alot more power-shifts better and overall is freakin awsome now

Just another happy camper with troyer tunes

Does anybody keep the tuner in the truck at all times in case its needed or do you guys keep it in the house? Just curious on that one
