Cool S&B Intake with Edge

Ok ive been reading on here about the edge not being a good idea with the s&b intake. I ordered both for a friend with an 07 fx2 5.4. My question is what can i do to make the truck not run lean with these mods?

So you have read that it will be a bad combo but ordered them anyways???? WTF man? You could check out some of the posts by ASEMechanic, AKA Bill and talk to him about custom tuning the Edge

no i ordered it, and then read about it. I have the edge with a k&n and didnt see why it would be a problem with the s&b.

Yup talk to bill. From what i have read the guy can work some magic! Also seems like a very nice, down to earth guy. just tell him whats up and he might be able to help.

I've had this combination installed for the last couple of months and have not had a lean condition that I am aware of. Though, I only run the Edge at Level 2. Am I the exception? I must have missed the threads that detailed the potential problems.

I have this setup and have no lean problem. Yes it was tested at a shop with a air/fuel meter and I am not just looking for the lean codes to pop up, which has never happened either.

The Edge and S&B is not a combo that will always make your truck run lean. But there is a few of us who had it run very lean. Also a few of us had that dreaded drone at 1800 rpm`s with the same combo. There are also problems with drone with other cai and the Edge. I called Edge and asked them about there tunes and they stated that the tune is for stock trucks only. I think the Edge is good for what it is, a canned tune. I had it for a 1.5 years and had great results with it until the add ons.
