When does Ford reflash?

After my initial "break-in" I want to take my truck to the dealer for it's first oil change. What is the likelihood they will reflash? Is there a certain reason they reflash?
...Or should I just never take it to the dealer unless I have to?
Thanks guys.

Well, based upon data elicited from the numerous posts here:

Ford will reflash your PCM when:
  • You have just installed a custom tune
  • You have just installed a canned tune
  • You have just installed a Roush-flashed PCM
  • You complain that your sliding rear window is rattling
  • You complain that the 3rd brake light is leaking
  • You complain the you got whupped by a Tundra
  • When you explicitly request that they do NOT flash your PCM
  • Your name happens to be 'Jack' or 'Gordon'

Seriously - I dunno - I think they spin a wheel or something myself

They normally will not reflash unless they are dealing with a problem or you have requested a flash. I tell my service manager not to touch my computer without my permission.

They need to make a lock for the pcm. They will flash if you take it in for an oil change if there is an update and your under warranty. My dealer stated they dont like to flash a new tune because at times it makes the truck run worst and they cant flash back. I still dont trust them.

I hate this. Once I get back in the country, I won't be able to do my own work for a while. Guess I'll rely on Jiffy lube.

Put a tie wrap around the port that says DON'T FLASH PLEASE but most are to lazy to remove the tie wrap so you should be good.

You must REALLY hate yer truck !!!

You'd risk running around a quart low, with the wrong oil, and a loose drain plug, versus a low probability reflash?

Well, thanks for the heads up, but I've never search, but also never read anything like that. Second, there still is teh probability of the reflash, then I'm on my stock tune driving a cross the country pissed off because there's crap that I can do about it.

I just received an 83$ oil change from the Ford Dealership. I' don't think I will be going back there unless I have some major problems.
