Question What Edge version is yours running.

I bought my evo in September for models 04 -07 EEF2400. I checked my version number today and it said version 7. Now when i got it i did not do a update but i did check and there was a update for it. My question is what version are all of you evo owners running out there?
Mine is running real nice and i have read that when some peeps took an update they thought it was not as good as the one they were running before they updated.
Anybody know what the latest version number is out there now? To lazy or more to the point, its a bit of a pain in the rear to return to stock and then check for updates. Does this version number even have anything to do with the programming updates? Or is it just the software the edge is running?
Just curious guys.
Thanks
Brian.

What is the full version number of your unit? (ie 3.ff.cc where 'ff' is the firmware version and 'cc' is the calibration version) You can find it from the Version Info option on the Diagnostics Menu and should also display when connected to Lightning.

Early versions (prior to firmware version 14) had an occasional problem updating to version 14 and later. Most of the time the update worked fine but for some inexplicable reason one would lock up every now and then. I have a customer right now who had version 8 and when he updated it locked up his unit. He is in the process of getting a replacement unit.

If your truck is running great, I'd probably leave it well enough alone.

Take care.

Hey Bill,

Thanks for your reply. I will check tonight and post my findings. And yes my truck is running very nice on level 2 with no changes to the stock level 2 settings. I am very happy with my edge.
Do you think i should update it? Well you can better answer that when i post my findings.
Thanks for your time.
Brian.

Ok Bill,

I checked the version info. It read as follows.

Bootloader 2.50.1857

Firmware 2.50.2995

Calibration 1.0.2943

Hardware 7.

Serial # 1010238

I do remember there being a update as i checked it when i got it but i never installed it because it was a beta.
Thanks for looking at this for me.

Okay, I thought you might have been running an older platform Evo, but you have the latest hardware. Now for your particular setup...

Current Firmware - 2.50.3667
Current Calibration - 1.0.3839

You are going to want to apply those updates as they fix a serious issue with the custom options. If you don't use the custom options then the update really won't affect you, but so far everyone has been running it with no problems.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again Bill.

The updates I quoted are the latest and the ones you'll want to use. They should be at the top of the list on the update screen in Lightning.

Take care.

Hi Bill,

Is there a problem with updates? I'm trying to update my edge but getting the error message "Server access failed-Unable to locate a valid hardware version file" What's wrong? What am I doing wrong?

I will wait for your input Bill before i update! My truck is at stock right now and I will leave it like that till i update the edge. Im going to miss level 2 driving to work tonight!

Update!

Ok that was weird. I was averaging 18 to 19 mpg running stock coming to work tonight driving the exact same way as compared to 16.5 to 17.5 running level 2.

My bad... fat fingered the version number. 2.50.3657 is the correct one. They are labelled "Unstable" when they have been on the update list for less than 30 days. After that point, if they have no further issues they are rolled to "Release". I have had good feedback on the latest version and am comfortable with it.

As for the mileage, that is weird. What were you using to calculate the mileage? Hand calculated, Evo, or dash? Very strange indeed.

Keep me posted.

Bill
