There are several great tuners on the market. MY two faves are the Xcal@ tuned by mike troyer and the Edge. Though i have not delt with the Xcal2 there are plenty of people that can say how good of a tune it is and tha its solid. You will see better gains with troyer over the edge or a superships model. THe edge is nice though becuase of the guage cluster that comes along with it. And the best of both worlds is the livewire tuned by mike but its a little bit more money then the rest.

ALl in all it depends on what you want.

Xcal2 is troyer. You can get it with stock tunes but its not that much more to get custom. The edge is the other big one. Hypertech i have never delt with but from what i have seen from friends and the rap its got on here is that it isn't worth the money.

X-Cal2 is NOT Troyer! Yes the man loads his tunes into an X-cal programmer but so does everyone else. You can get an X-cal from VMP or BAMA and they will be comparable to Troyer tunes.

Maybe.

Hypertech does not compete with anyone's custom tuning. It is a canned tune like the Edge.
The devices like xcal 2, 3 and Livewire are separate from the tunes installed inside them. Mike Troyer is the expert on these trucks but VMP seems to do a good job.

Your right. Maybe i should have said that in a differnt way. I was trying to keep it simple. The Xcal2 is just a means of storing and loading tunes. It doesn't matter if your go troyer of VMP. I havn't heard of BAMA but i know that there is a ton of "custom" tuners out there. U just have to find one that is reputable.
