Troyer Tuner Question

I loaded up the 87 perf. tunes into my truck. On a highway drive I noticed the truck was kinda surging up hills. As I was climbing the hill the tach would go up and down. I was like the truck wanted to downshift then would change its mind! Is this just because the truck is still learning the new program or is this something I should contact Troyer about? Anybody else experience this?

I would give it a bit more time to let the adaptive really 'learn' your driving and such...

the pcm is adapting to the changes and needs some time. i have experienced the best results after about 2 or 300 miles on her.

Contact them regardless, and LOG the issue - there are cases where, due to your specific strategy code, a minor tweak may be in order.

FYI - best tech support is obtained by talking to them directly.

Good luck.

I had this problem with my old troyer tune, and took it to get dynoed at troyers. He hooked me up with a new tune and fixed the issue. He had an explaination for it, but you know how mike is. I can't remember all he said. Give him a call and I know he can fix the problem.

Are you suing cruise control ? If I use cruise this will happed if I am on a pull where when it shifts out of OD it accelerates and goes back into OD.

Yes I was using the cruise control when this happens. I will try to datalog this and send it into Troyer. This should not be right, and it is kinda annoying too. Didn't do this on the stock tune!

Mine does the same thing going down the highway using the cruise control. I was climbing a hill at the time, but when i took it off cruise control it stopped. I haven't used the cruise control since then. I have the xcal2,magnaflow exhaust and 3.5 air force one.

I guess I'm old fashioned.. I never use the cruise control.. maybe it goes back to having it not disengage once on my '76 LeMans.. .. that was scary!!

I just prefer having my foot decide I reckon.. and yes, there are loooong stretches of highway to cruise here.. just don't like cruise control..

I've got the Xcal 2 on order with Troyer and now y'all have raised a Q that I'll have to try for myself once I get the tunes..
