superchips

I just got a superchips for my 97 f150 i want to run the 91 octain program can i run it with 87 octain with an octain booster and be safe

I wouldn't trust that theory. The difference between 91 and 87 is like .20 cents. If your tank was totaly empty it would cost you like 6 bucks more to use the higher octane. The octane booster is at least $3 bucks. Just spend the extra couple of bucks at the pump to be safe or use the lower setting on your programmer. Just my .02

No. Most off-the-shelf octane boosters don't rasie it enough to be safe, and they can contaminate your O2's.

Use the octane the tuning requires.

Do you think it was bad for my truck to run it on the lower octane at first even with the higher setting, I only did it till my tank was gone.. then refueled to the higher octane.. No problems. j/w if it was really bad or not??

Prolly not - as the trucks have stellar knock sensing systems and other measures to help protect the engine.

Just don't do it again, ok?
