Mod Advice Needed

I need some imput from some who have already done what I am about to start doing. The truck is a 00 F150 7700 with a 5.4, A/T, 2wd, extended cab. It just turned 157K miles.

This is what I have done so far:

1. A good tuneup, including plugs, fuel filter, and a fuel injection service.

2. 3 inch exhaust after the Y pipe

3.K&N filter in the stock box that has been opened up for more flow, and a removed silencer in the stock intake tube.

4. New 265-75-16 tires. Slightly bigger than stock.

Now I want your imput on what to do next, here is the list of possibilities:

Edge tuner - Heard good reviews
E fans - heard good reviews
Throttle body spacer - heard mixed reviews
Pulleys - heard NO reviews

I am looking for MPG increase and Performance, in that order. What order would you do these in knowing what I am looking for in the truck? Or is there something else you would do? I dont have alot of $$$, but I want to get some of these done before my baby is born and I have NO $$$.

A tuner will provide the biggest gain that any single mod will give you. It produces noticable gains, whereas the others may or may not. Pulleys are detrimental to your truck IMO. They decrease water pump flow, alternator output, a/c output etc. Not to mention air cooling (assuming you don't get e-fans). TB spacers are a waste of money. Unless you want an annoying whistling sound from your intake. E-fans... I really don't see the point, but some people like them. I guess if you're drag racing, every little bit helps, but as for mileage, I don't see it helping very much, if at all. Unless you do a lot of idling I guess.... Not much to do as far as mpg's go, and don't expect anything from the tuner. No real way to increase fuel mileage except slow down. A mere 5 mph reduction in average speed will produce NOTICABLE mpg increases.

Agree with Chester on the pullies they slow everything down to much. They work good on a mustang but not a work truck. TB spacer = waste no gains at all. E-fans are decent if your city driving alot plus your A/c might get slightly colder. They also take a small drag off your crank which is supposed to give you a couple HP. A tuner will give you the biggest HP gain plus let you change your speedometer for the slightly bigger tires. Goodluck.

More MPG = easy and cheap, go easy with the right foot / keep tire pressure right etc.

Performance = Tuner and you may look into a custom tuner and ask for the absolute best mpg tune available. I do see a little difference better with 87 tow/mpg/performance over the 93 but really it's nothing compared to a light right foot.
