Exclamation XCal2 Issue.. No Start - SOLVED! :-D

I just received my tunes in the email today, loaded them onto the XCal2 and proceeded to flash my truck. Upon restarting the vehicle.. didn't even crank, and after a few seconds the gauge meters shake for a bit. Returning to stock doesn't fix the problem. I'll give Troyer a call tomorrow morning, but just wondering if anyone's encountered this before as maybe there is something that I have missed. I'm guessing I'll have to get it towed to the local dealer for a re-flash. I did do a read strategy and submitted that info so maybe it's something else.

Yes - it's not common, but it happens.

My first X2 was DOA.

They will expedite a solution, no worries there.

Ok, got it working. I had disconnected my audio system from the battery so it wouldn't drain the battery during the flashing process. Turns out I didn't tighten the battery cables enough afterwards. Took everything off and tightened everything up and it started right up. Quickly uploaded my 91 perf tune and off I went. Works awesome.

For some reason, this sounds just like an Edge thread!

ha.. my xcal2 is going on 3 years old...

and it won't turn on at all from the USB port.. it has to be plugged into the OBDII port and the ignition has to be on for me to see the xcal2, either for tuning or flashing... its a pain.. but it works... also.. I could not find that stupid 9-din cord for it.. and yes I know they sell it at various places but no where local...

so I mapped out the pins in it and soldered it to the board inside the xcal2.. its ugly as hell but it works... Tuning is kind of a pain... you have to make sure to do it all inside the truck.. hahaha... better than spending 379 for a new one...

So, what happens if the Xcal2 takes a dump with your stock / custom tunes?? Is that, along with the other custom tunes, something that needs to be backed up on disk??
