I was trying to find a thread on this question but could not find any information. Is it better to run the xcal2 in 93 performance mode or 93 towing mode. Since I don't drive my truck that often and tow a camper. It stays in towing mode The truck only has 13000 mile since june 05. I go camping about once or twice a month.

 

not that familiar with the xcal2 but i think like edge you would not want to tow in lvl3 and if you tow often i would just leave it in lvl2

 

from the threads I've read I would say you do not want to use the towing tune unless actually towing. It is a 2 or 3 minute reflash so change the tune when not towing

there will be some better replies from those that tow

thanks for the advice. I'm going to switch over to perf mode. then towing mode just for towing. I got to make a habit switching over when I drop the camper off.

 

when i ordered my xcal troyer said that either the tow tiune or performance tune could be run at all times excpet when towing. he said that many people leave it in tow mode since they to a lot.

 

x2.. I was told the same, that it's fine to use the tow tune without a load, but not to tow with the perf tunes.
