My thinking is??? If you are not having any issues, don't mess with it! I've been running whatever version came on my system when I got it. It has the date 3/26/07 on the box. I've had no problems at all with my Edge tuner. Is there a particular problem you guys are wanting to address??

No, not having a problem yet. It just seems from what Ive read in old posts that when people ARE having problems the first thing everyone says to do is update their version. So I was just curious if a person should always be checking and/or updating the tuner.

There is a July firmware update available and a couple of software updates that support additional hex files. But, hivoltagefx4 has it right - if it's not broken, don't fix it! Sometimes when code gets "fixed" the fix causes other things to become broken.

I just got my Edge and my tranny gets all confused when I try to customize the standard shift points on Level 2. I did the whole update thing and it didn't help. Edge is trying to figure out what's up, and when they do, they'll probably release a software update with the fix. But since they've "never heard of this happening before", I doubt the update would do any good for someone who isn't already having the problem.

yeah well the other night i did custom settings on my lvl2 as well and it didnt respond quite right so i just set it back to the standard tune and let it go, the changes i tried to make were on shift firmness and points, also increased WOT to 1.5 and it was ok until i got into the higher rpms then i felt a little jerk or bump and it seemed to fade a little at one point. My edge just came a week ago and i did the updates 2 days later so who knows. I'm happy with mine on the regular settings and don't feel the custom ones are really necessary, other than tire size or possibly timing advance if you run it lvl 2 but use 89 or higher octane.

shift firmness 1-2 +12, 2-3 +12, 3-4 +9
WOT +1.50 (one guy said 1.60)

I have had no problems with the custom options as opposed to the standard programs. However, the truck does shift a little funny when first loading a new tune. That goes away after a few drive cycles or a couple days. Just the computer learning. You should leave it for a few days and see if it goes away. If not then try updating or change your settings.

I never mess with standard shift points though. Just WOT

Both the firmware and tune program were listed as unstable when I loaded them and I was just trying to see if they came out in a final ver. yet. I do not like pulling the edge out of the truck just to find there is no new update.

I've also heard that it can take a little while to "learn" a new tune, and I was hoping that's all it was. But when Edge told me that they'd never heard of my particular problem before, I figured it was a good idea to just run the canned tune (which runs great!) and let them have at the code for a while to see what they come up with. They had me send them the file directory to take a look at.

I was actually only trying to get the tranny to shift into 4th at 35 instead of 40. I do a lot of city driving so I'm spending a lot of time in 3rd gear when I should be in 4th. I don't do any towing, and if I did I would just turn the OD off, so if I'd rather be driving 35 mph @ 1100 rpm than 1600 rpm.

I have this issue posted in another thread. I'll bump it up when I hear from Edge.

it would be helpful to post the version number when posting. kind of silly to talk about the latest version when ya don't put the numbers up..... I have version 27 currently... was wondering myself if there is a later version out.

Edge would be helpful if they had a page with the versions and what updates, HEX added etc.

Users have to return to stock, plug it in and go through lightining to see if any updates are available. Kinda annoying.

Please point me to a page if they already have this. I never found one.
