Question for Mike Troyer

Hi mike, i have an 07 Mark lt. I see on SCT's website that the xcal2 only shows 04-06. Also Edge's site says it is not compatiable with the Mark lt. My question is, what tuner is in fact compatible with my truck with a computer code UFU4? Also is it possible to order the xcal2 with a canned tune and upgrade later to custom tunes? I just cant and dont want to wait a few months to get some enjoyment out of a tuner. I am also interested in an intake for it. I appreciate your time and expertise. Thank you.

Ok.

If you want it now, you can order a 9415 - the 'canned' version of the Xcal2. Comes preloaded from SCT with tunes, and can be converted to use custom tunes when you so desire ( a one-time, one way operation only).

This option gets you the device and some reasonable tuning immediately.

Two caveats:

1> Will cost you more, since you will need to pay for custom tuning later ( or not...but you should - they are far superior to any canned tunes, regardless of manufacturer).

2> SCT is adding new vehicle support to the 9415 all the time - you really should call them to see if the latest updates on their site ( versions 18, 18A, 18B, and 20) support your box code. These updates are downloadable.

Your other option is an SCT LiveWire from Mike - comes with canned tunes ( again - check for available support for newest models), and can hold additional custom tunes if so desired. This is the most flexible, capable device - caveat here is it's also the most expensive.

The above two options will get you started soonest - you can enjoy better -than-stock tuning while your REAL tunes are being done

As for intakes - 3.5" AF1 - hands-down no-brainer choice if you want the best performance - this will require custom tuning, so you can't add it until such time as your REAL tunes are on hand. If you can't wait for an intake either ( what is the big rush, anyway ???), then go with the 3" AF1 version - you can use it even on a stock truck.

Cheers
Bubba

Not to hijack thread too much but... If you need a custom tune for a 3.5" AF1, would you also need a custom tune for a magnaflow SISO? Reason I ask is I have a Troyer SCT tuner and AF1, but stock exhaust. Would adding an exhaust require modified tunes?

IIRC, no. The exhaust doesn't mess with the a/f ratio enough for a new tune.
