Buying Used X-Cal 2

Would buying a used x-cal be feesible? Would just have to use the tunes that are already in it? Has anybody bought a used one? Thinking about getting another tuner and I dont want a Edge.

The code for your pcm may be different than that of the used Xcal2. Buyer beware.

Even if it happens to have the same PCM code, the strategy code is likely different. Do not use a used, tuned X2 on your truck if you are not sure.

You need to ensure it's returned to stock.

Then it needs to be unlocked and reset via the utility applets from SCT. If it won't unlock for some reason, you'll need to pay to have a dealer/SCT do it for you.

Then - you will need to pay for tunes.

It had better be a real great deal, as you will likely pay the same or even more than just buying a brand new one with TP's tuning. With a warranty, too.

i am one of several guys on here that purchased a used Xcal2, it works great, just ensure it is "unlocked" before you buy one

and you will need tunes for your truck that are designed for your truck (you don't need 3 custom tunes just one will work)
