edge idle problem

Got my edge evo a few days ago. I love it. It has brought my truck back after putting 35s on it. I havve run level 1 & 2 with tires set and gears at 3.55. Everything has been fine. I filled up this morning with 89 octane for an extra kick. Set it to level 2 and raised my timing +1.00. Now my truck runs like ca*p. it idles rough (actually jumps) and at 70+ mph twice it felt like it popped in and out of gear.

When i got home I set it back to stock. Idled fine. Set it to level 2 (no timing advance). Idle jumps. Turned it down to level 1. idles fine.

Any suggestions. Could it be bad gas.

Oh, while I was out I reset the timing to 0 on level 2 and it did the same thing.

Wasthe tank empty when you fueled up with 89? What else did you change in your settings?

I would have told you cheap gas when you said it was when you changed the timing. But then you told us it happened with the stock level 2 87 tune.

What kind of gas?

Tank was down to under 1/8. Used chevron gas. the only other settings were tires and gears

I redid it today.

1. went back to stock (idle okay)
2. went to level 1 - checked gears and tire (idle okay)
3. went back to stock (idle okay)
4. went to level 2 - checked gears and tire (idle okay)

I haven't had a chance to drive it. I will later. Going from 87 to 89 octane, I should advance my timing 1.0 RIGHT???

Maybe it was just something freaky. Computers can be that way. It just makes me nervous that i'm going to screw up my $43000 truck.

your "jumping" at 70 mph could be the start of detonation. I wouldn't mess with the timing. I tried that and did a 0-60 run and it popped pretty good. now the only adjustment I make on level 2 is up the WOT fuel to 1.6 and adjust the shift points way down. Now no pop. Also it seemed that my idle was a little rough for the first couple days when I made a program change, then it smoothed out. Smoother than stock in fact. Might want to give it a little time.

I would not advance the timing with 89 octane. Advance it with anything over it though.

I would program it back to 0 unplug it run it and see how it does. See if it still runs rough or jumps at 70 MPH. This way youll know if its the edge or not. Then call Edge if it only happens when running the edge. Ive been runnning my edge for 2 months how and running great. Started at lvl2 and recently sent to lvl3 with 93 octane. Strong like BULL!

Good Luck and keep us posted! DONT bother sending EDGE a e-mail if any problems with it they dont reply back so youll need to call them! However I heard they have good phone service.
