Another Edge Evolution question.....

I searched and searched for this but couldnt find it....Sorry if it is a repeat but I have a question for you guys....

I put on my 305/70/18 procomps and my dealer re-calibrated my speedometer and my shift points for me...(actually for free, I didnt even ask him to)

I want to buy an Edge. Reading the manual for the Edge, I read this:

"If you have used another tuner/programmer on your truck, you will need to program your truck back to stock before using the Evolution.
Failure to return to stock may result in PCM failure or engine damage."

BUT, here is my question...So.....does this mean that I would need to take it back to the ford dealer (since he changed the speedo and shift points) and have them put it back to the stock settings before hooking up a programmer????

Any help would be appreciated...

Matt

You can use the edge.Basically what that means is you can't put a tuner in your truck and then put the edge in if you have not returned it back to stock on the original programmer you have used (run on sentence!!!)

In short you are good to go as long as you are not using another power programmer!!

This might still be a stupid question but isnt what the dealer does the same as programming my truck with an aftermarket programmer?

The dealer replaces (overwrites) your stock tune so technically speaking you are stock now and don't have to worry about taking it back to the dealer.

So let me get this straight. If I add an Edge...then return the truck back to stock, it will go back to what I have now?

Correct. It saves the current program onto the Edge module.
