is the edge what i need?

i have search and no luck.....

i am not out to floor my truck to race someone, i dont have a boat to tow, i dont really tow anything for that matter, 4wheeler goes in the bed, mudding for me is on the dirt road to the hunting camp......

here is my question:

is the edge what i need?....

here is what i want:

better mpg and to adjust the tire size, i just went from oem 18s to oem 20s and will be soon putter a slightly larger at tire on the 20s. also to be able down the road to see codes and work on my truck myself.......so is it worth the money......the website says an average of 3 mpg gain....well is that is true then it will pay for itself in 10k miles, so less than a year for me......so what do you think?.......thanks

Ok, I've had the Edge on my '06 for about 20k miles, and I love it. It does exactly what i need it to do. I dont race my truck either but I do tend to have a heavier foot every now and then though. I do tow a boat, jet ski's, work trailers and the tow setting on the Edge helps out, especially since I went to a larger tire. I also like the fact that it has four different gauges as well, and the fact that you can customize it for larger wheels and tires or even gears. For what you mentioned, I think it is what you are looking for, but some will say that for about the same price now, you can get MT's custom tunes. I myself have no experience with them or know anyone who does, but from other members on here, he seems to be pumping as much power out of these truck that you can get.

This is just my .02.

Not anymore - not at the new price.

When a true custom tuner is less expensive than a canned tuner, you gotta to be on crack to consider a 'canner'.

Anyone who chose the worst three bang/buck mods - I mean three strikes & yer out - can't be taken seriously. LMAO !

"Edge Evolution Level 3 Custom Tune!
Flowmaster Super 40 Series SIDO
K&N 77 Series High-Flow Performance Air Intake Kit(SCREW AF1!!!)"

Nice research

Got a neighbour here with those similar mods - I smoke him every time. With just a tuner. Poor bugger just don't get it...

There .. that's better .. was gettin' too quiet around here LOL

Regardless of the above post, I still think the Edge is worth it, even at the new price. Plus you get a guage/pod that can display 4 different engine parameters and read/clear codes which is one of the things you said you were interested in. You can also adjust tire size, timing, etc.

Just do some research on the different types of tuners and I'm sure you'll choose the one that fits what you want.

Ok, if I chose the wrong ones, send me the cash to get the right ones. I wouldnt mind spending your cash. If you dont want to send it to me then don't worry about what I have. If you don't like it then too bad.

If you look around you can get an Edge a lot cheaper than what the New Price is being listed as. I just bought a new in the box unit for under $400 shipped. Bought it Tuesday, recieved it today and it's already installed. No 3 Month waiting.

The Edge will do exactyl what you want it to do.

I tow a boat (3.5k lb) and run around town so the Edge will do what I want as well.

If I had patients I would have ordered a TP X-Cal II with custom tunes.
It would have probably got me in trouble too because I would be trying to race everything on the road, but I know these trucks arent designed for that.
