Weird squeek noise after I instaled edge!Help!

I just instaled the edge in my truck today and put it on level 2 setting. When I really get on it, it shifts pretty hard and I can hear a squeek noise coming from the rear? I than went back and went into custom and saw my gear ratio and tire size was off so I changed that but I could still faintly hear the squeek when I got on the gas hard?? What should I do?

Thanks

Are you sure it is coming from the rear? Many of us have experienced the drive belt slipping on hard shifts after installing a tuner. It's an easy fix, replace the belt with a gator belt. About $30 and 10 minutes.

Maybe its not from the rear...thats what I thought. But I definately am hearing a squeak. Is this bad? I dont plan on givin'r that hard that often so it shouldnt do it much. Could I try lowering my shift firmness because it doesnt feel like its shifting really smooth? Any help would be appreciated. Again...its a 03' 5.4v8, and I got flowmasters and a AEM BF intake.

a nice firm or hard shift will not be real smooth. You will want to have it at least firm enought to take out the built in clutch slippage. If you are not going WOT very often, then the belt slippage will not occur. It's the belt that drives the fan, altenator, air, etc. I haven't changed mine because I seldom go WOT, had the Edge for 9 months.

I just about gurantee it's your belt.Mine does it too.Its shifting harder.Mine also did it stock.I have put roughly 6000 miles on mine and it sees WOT daily and works perfect.Your tranny is no longer slipping into gear and that is good IMO as long as its not violent
Curious are you catching rubber on the 1-2 shift WOT???
Level3 doesn't shift as hard on mine so you may like that better

I dont think Im catching rubber but I swear it thought it was from the rear...but the sound does sound like a belt squeek? Im actualy at work right now and tomorrow I have off so I will test it all day and figure out exactly on what shift points its doing it and Ill post all that info up. Im just wondering if I should be worrying about this at all?? It seems like you guys think its not too big of a deal??

It does it on level 2 and level 3 as I use the same shift firmness. It only does it at WOT for me, and it will just wear the belt out a little faster. Most guys that do any racing or a lot of WOT solve it with the Gatorback belt.

Is it even worse on level 3 or not? Also, this is way off topic but how does avg. mpg differ from instant mpg.

I don't think it is any worse really. I have no idea on the mileage question, as I have never paid any attention to that. My guess is average is what you have averaged since it was last reset and instant is what you are getting right at that moment. I keep a spreadsheet calculating my actual mileage on every fillup. I use the gauge to keep track of engine temp, oil temp, transmission temp, and mph.

it doesn't hurt anything, also let the computer get use to the tune, don't adjust anything yet.

My engine temp runs about 195, oil 185 to 192 depending on how cold it is, the tranny anywhere from 158 to 170.

Right on the mileage you can also reset it by holding enter for a few seconds.A screen will come up (reset average MPG)press enter
My engine temp runs 192 w/o A/C on
