Should I replace stock parts before reading stock tune?
Should I replace stock parts before reading stock tune?
For everyone that has aftermarket parts along with a tuner, is there any benefit to replacing stock intake before tuning? To me it doesn't seem like it would be reading your stock tune since the computer adjusts somewhat to new readings on the sensors.

No worries - the stock tune that is saved as a first step whenever you reflash with a different tune is the code that is in non-volatile memory ( NVM). The optimizations - adaptive strategy, fuel trims, etc - are written to volatile storage (RAM) and are not preserved. This same area gets erased upon reflash or power disconnects.
Hope this helps.
EDIT - let me know if I've misinterpreted the intent of the original question - thanks!
cheers

Depends on your tuner/intake choice. Some intakes require custom tuning to prevent a lean condition, these are the ones that provide the max power though. This is a good choice if your truck isn't constantly needing dealer service that requires you to swap the stock intake on when you reflash back to stock.
