Will a tuner fix these issues

I'm looking for some input regarding a tuner. Not looking for which tuner or who's custom tuning or any of that, just some more basic knowledge.

Will a tuner reduce the slow response and hesitation that is likely caused by this throttle by wire crap.

Thanks

Hi.

Absolutely .

Either a canned tuner, or better yet a custom one, since the customs go into full PCM 7 digit strategy code-specific tuning - as ETC implementations will be different for each - and will net the best improvements.

And make no mistake - the improvement isn't just noticeable, it's stunning. You WILL not ever want to go back. It's been 7 months and I'm still amazed by the throttle response!

BTW - I see some '07 folks are reporting that Ford's getting a handle on the ETC in the factory tune. I see there is still some room for improvement, though. Good stuff.

Cheers

Absolutly, this is the only reason I bought the Edge. No power and no passing gear.

I had a bad hesitation when I first got my truck as well as a very erradic passing gear. Had it reflashed at the dealer and it removed the hesitation, but still very unresonsive, sluggish. Bought the Edge and now have about 18,000 miles using the Edge. A tuner is a must!

I'll have to drive an 07 next time I'm at dealer to see. Was there for service a month ago and took a new 07 Stang GT 5 speed- California Special Edition- for a ride. ( nice to have a buddy that is the GM there ). I have now lost all interest for additional mod's trying to make my 5700lb. automatic truck perform better after driving that - basically have the Troyer stage 1 package now and this is 1000x better than stock - thank you MT !! ). I know what my next vehicle will be, just need to finish up the truck payments first - and I like the truck too much to trade it in! I had the 06 back to stock getting some service work done last month and the factory tune is a complete throttle lagging SLUG - and this is an 06. First time back to stock for a year. Back running the dyno tuned 93 octane tune now, great to be back! Nice to hear some improvements done for 07 over the 06, I've had an 04, 05 and now the 06, but didn't want to go with the 07 because I saw no reason to trade this time, they all were hesitating slugs with the stock tune, you realize how bad they are once you drive on a max performance tune.
