Have you calculated the mm for your tires? Use the formula in the manual.

If you are going to run level 2, just use the same setting you used in level 3. Be sure to check the gear ratio, make sure to change it unless it defaults to what you have in your truck. If you are running 87on level 2, you don't adjust the timing.

After rereading your request, maybe you are talking about a truely custom tune. You need to contact Bill at PHP for that. He can do economy or performance tunes.

I'd try setting it to level 2 and go to custom settings then adjust for your rear end gear ratio, tire size converted to milimeters and use 87 octane fuel. Let the Edge digest the info and go try it out. Note: measure your tire diameter on the truck first, a 33" tire may be more like 32.5 to 32.9 then use formula in the book to convert to mm. If an old fart like me can figure it out I'm sure you can. I get a steady 16 to 18mpg with my truck on the hwy with 35's on my truck using level 2 with 87 octane.

tuners

which tuner is better the sct x3 or the edge. Does one have more options than the other. The price range is a low 25-40 dollar difference so i am just wondering. And how much hp and torque are you guys getting out of these tuners?

Flat land and highways have speed limits of 65 dropping down to 55 mph that I mainly run on. 70 mph limit I cruise at 67mph and get great mileage for a large truck. Get up above 75 and it suck's the gas, drop's down to about 15mpg.

Bump. I know this thread is old but interesting. And I would love to know how things have differed or stayed the same since. I just got a 07 fx2 4.6l and I have been playing around with my edge trying to come up with something works best for me. Would love to also see how people are doing with the same truck? Thanks

Sucked through the vortex, looking for advice

First I want to say hello to all, I'm new to chipped engines. I'm an "old school" guy that has until now only built 70's and 80's engines for lifted mud slingers.
So, I picked up a '04 FX-4 a few months ago, got an edge chip, and put on a cold air injection kit.
I'll be getting a dual Flowmaster exhaust in January. Right now it's on stock tires, I run 92 octane.
I've been playing around with #2 and #3 settings, but am not really happy with either one.
I got the chip from a wrecked truck and I believe it's about 5 years old.
I did update the bios last month when I installed it.
I'm near Seattle, so that's sea level and a cool ambient temp.
Can anyone recommend a custom setting that wont destroy the tranny but deliver a good blend of performance and increased MPG's?
Thanks in advance.
