Tuning software for F150

Does anyone sell tuning scan and tune software/hardware so you can hack the PCM and have access to most of the operating parameters?

Believe it or not I searched but I didn't find what I was looking for. I don't want a hand held box but rather full blown tuning software that gives me full access to the PCM, such as EFILive for the GM LS series of engines.

I believe someone will jump in here and say something like without years of experience, a dyno, air flow meters and bla bla bla you will be waisting your money, time and truck. I might be wrong about all this.

Hi JJ;

Google:

'eecv tuning software' - 822 hits
'eecv tuning hardware' - 193 hits

Recommended: --> http://www.sctflash.com/product_racer.php

SCT Pro Racer s/w, with an SCT flash device (or chip for pre-CAN vehicles) as the hardware. Pro Racer is the single-vehicle version of Advantage that SCT dealers use.

Others, such as Tweecer ( for pre-04's?) - you'll have to check for yourself...

Hi Jub,

Yes, we can set you up with a package that can do that!

However, keep in mind that no software is going to make you a tuner - you will still have to have a lot of vehcle-specific tuning knowledge to use this effectively.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that you can buy a software package and then "point, click, you're a tuner" - and that simply isn't even remotely the case. There are going to be many things, especially regarding these F-series vehicles, that no matter what your previous tuning experience may be with EFI, are going to be different and require a lot of time and work to actually master.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to discourage you, just trying to let you know what you're in for when you get into trying to actually tune an F-series for yourself as opposed to the adjustability you would have at your fingertips with our hand-held tuner if we did the tuning for you.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call and we can go over all of this with you, so you can decide if that is something you actually want to get into, and if so, we'll be happy to help!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for coming back. Just to let you know, I have a highly modified Z06 Corvette that I've tuned using EFILive and an Innovate LM-1 wideband so I'm no stranger to tuning.

I can tell that the current tune in my F150 isn't worth a darn, especially when cold. Plus, my exhaust tips are always soot black! I'm sure you're well aware of these problems.

I thought about a "plug-n-play" tune but for a few bucks more I thought it would be fun to have a little more control.

I'm not ready to buy something at the moment, just weighing my options.
