Painting the EDGE console

Hello to all, I am new to F150 online, but have found it very helpful for research and decisions for purchasing aftermarket Ford products. I have recently purchased the EDGE programmer for my 05 F150 and would like to paint the console that comes with it first. Wondering as to how to prepare the plastic properly.

No prep work on mine. I just got a can of spray paint that matched my interior and just shot it! It came out nice. No problems at all. No need to make it harder than it is for this job.

I sanded, paint and clear. Rattle can paint, off the shelf.

I just left mine black. I wanted to paint it too, but it matches with the black leather in mine. When the door is closed it almost looks like it came from the factory.
