I got home from work and disconnected the battery im gonna go recconnect and see what happens now. im thinkin if i reset the ecu it will clear whatever the edge tried to do and i can start over. The truck ran like a raped ape today though, no cel's no misfire.

 

Why didnt I listen to you guys the first time. Edge going back! Had probs last night. Xcal2 from Troyer was orded this afternoon. THE WAIT IS GOING TO SUCK!!!!!

 

So I test drove my truck and it still felt different. I got home and plugged in the edge...Ignition on not running. The edge says A PREVIOUS PROGRAMMING SESSION HAS FAILED PRESS ANY KEY TO RETURN TO STOCK. So i look for the ANY key I push enter and the evoloution screen comes up and then the gauges pop on.. I go into diagnostics and than version info. This is where it gets F'd up. I push enter after viewing the version info and it says THIS EVOLUTION HAS NOT YET PROGRAMMED A TRUCK. WTF! The box in the upper right says 0. So I try to load lvl2 and again it got all the way to CALCULATING CHECKSUM and came up with a CHECKSUM ERROR RXCM5A6. I am gonna plug my edge into the comp now and try to upload some stuff mabey? It says in the manual they can possibly download a program to the edge to make it work on my truck. Why is the CHECKSUM ERROR the same as my hex code

I looked at all of the release updates and my hex code is not in any one of them. Also every time I connect my edge to my computer it says STOCK FILES DONT MATCH DOWNLOAD NEW?. At the bottom right of the lightning software window it says Programmed level 0. It always recognizes my Hex but was somehow programmed to another vehicle? I just DFK

Don't feel bad, I had a EDGE to and it had a very short stay in my truck, Call Troyer and your tuner problems will end.....

About an hour ago I was talking to tech support and just as I finished explaining my situation the tech says "oh.. it looks like our server just went down, whats a good number to reach you at?" So I gave him my cell and am waiting for his call. The edge still works as a nice gauge setup, I hope they can correct my problem because this is bothering the hell out of me.

 

Don't give up, I had 2 programmers the 3rd finally worked, and very happy that it finally worked!
I had same thing happen, check sum error on the first unit, than the other would not power up
Regardless I plugged this one in and worked perfect, I am not even going to bother trying any updates, as why?, if it works leave well enough alone, its not like there is going to be an update to gain any more performance, correct me if I am wrong though.

Actually I heard that the price went up because the updates are actually going to be useful. Dont quote me on this but I think they are claiming updated programs with 40-80hp gains. That would be sweet

John how long did it take before you got one that worked? Did you call Edge every day? Who covered the postage?

 

So i just called Edge back and their server is down . The tech I spoke with this time told me straigt up that as of right now my Edge is just a nice set of gauges. The problem I am having has to do with the FIRMWARE. He told me that they thought they fixed this problem with update Version 2.50.2091. They didn't and as of right now they do not know when an update to fix it will be available. He said if I wanted to I could try to return the Edge to Autoanything.com but a new one would most likely have the same problems . I guess i just have to wait it out and keep checking for updates. Man this really sucks. On a higher note i ran an 8.16 0-60 in stock form

 

Egde has a new update that is suppost to correct that problem...

Just not possible - not in a canned tune, even at the low end your estimate.

And, the price went up due to the enforcement of Edge's MAP policy.

I just opened my lightning software and there was a new update available. version 3.0...I hooked up the edge but their server must be down cause I cant update it. Ill try later.
