which edge 2003 5.4?

I know for the superchips I need the 1715 model, but for the edge, which one should I use?
2003 s/cab 5.4 auto 3.55 ls
and I won't ask which one to get, there's like 1,000 posts about which one is better - I can figure that out. Just don't know which edge to use.
also, does the edge have to be mounted on the dash?
thanks

the part ## is EEF2100 and you do not have to mount it.Simply load it and after programing is complete remove from OBD port. Why do you not want it mounted????????

It looks awesome and will be fun to use mounted, just seems inviting to poeple looking for a reason to break in. do either of you have that particular edge? how do you like it? also, if I buy it used, is it locked?

I think I really screwed up not buying the edge before the 1st of this month. A $100-$150 increase seems crazy! whats the difference between the eef2000 and the eef2100? other than 150 bucks?

if you didn't buy an edge by now just go with a custom xcal from troyer, it's now a better deal. when I bought my edge I just wanted a can tune for cheap, but since thats not available anymore, just go custom. You'll get more power and probably be just as happy or happier than having the edge, other than not having guages.

For costs, you'll need to contact them - it's the rules here. You do get a discount being a member here ...

The EEF-2000 is the old design, no guage display. The EEF-2100 is the new one based on the eef-2400, has the guage display and 3 preloaded canned tunes.

is it worth buying an edge (probably the 2100 if I buy one) if I'm only going to use the 87 octane? I know the high perf. setting requires 91 or better, but I want to SAVE money on gas, not spend more. Thanks

That's entirely subjective, if your not interested in the guages, then a custom tuned x-cal 2 from Troyer is cheaper.
